hello!

In 2013 I discovered my passion for surface pattern design. But at that moment I wasn’t immediately skilled at it. It took me a lot of investigation, trial and error and in the end taking a lot of classes, before I started feeling confident in creating patterns.

Classes and classes

A big game-changer for me was discovering Skillshare a few years ago! Skillshare has so many courses from so many talented teachers. I must say I am a little addicted to it, because it has teached me so much! I learned not only much about surface pattern design, but also about creating art and the business side of being a surface pattern designer.

Skillshare classes

After taking all these classes, I finally can say I’m a pretty confident surface pattern designer. Especially in creating pattern designs and making art. But after creating a lot of designs, I want to use my designs to spread some beauty in this world. One way to do that is licensing my designs to companies. But being an introvert, contacting clients isn’t something I feel confident in. I felt scared and felt lost in what to say and share.

At the perfect timing in my career, Shannon McNab launched her course: Pitch Your Portfolio! Exactly the course I needed to take the next step as an artist. Her course gave me a fresh new look on my portfolio and changed the way I will develop it in the future. I was also a novice in the organization of my files, but guess what, not anymore! But the most important thing of all, I now am confident in pitching my portfolio to potential clients! Does it mean, that every time I contact somebody, I get a deal out of it? Of course not, but that’s ok, it wouldn’t be realistic.

More about Pitch Your Portfolio

Pitch Your Portfolio is a course that shows you step-by-step how to find, connect with, and present your art to companies. Because focusing on your art isn’t enough. You need a plan to help you move past art-making mode and into sending out your work, without making you feel overwhelmed as a result! And that is what Shannon wants to help you with! This course only takes place ones a year and I am happy to announce that enrollment will open again the 10th of May 2022.

Pitch Your Portfolio

As a Pitch Your Portfolio student I am honored I can be an affiliate for this course. I know taking a course like this can be a big investment, as it was for me. But when you sign up for this course with my link, I will give something back to you: a 40$ giftcard from Amazon. Think of all the art supplies you can buy with this…. Enrollment for this course will open from the 4th of April until the 11th of April 2023. If you want to be sure and don’t want to miss the deadline, you can already signup to add you to the waitlist.

And… if you would like to receive a glimpse of how the course could look like, Shannon will have a workshop on the 4th and 5th of April: Build a Portfolio That Sells. Shannon also told me that she will have a special bonus for who will participate in the workshop. So it really will be worthwhile to take part in this workshop! So sign up fast, you have nothing to loose!

When you would have questions about the course, my experiences or about using my link, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help!
